The leading edge is designed to help guide the pool cover across the water, ensuring smooth operation of your automatic pool cover system. Our round leading edge comes standard with all pool and spa covers.
Square Leading Edge
Cover-Pools square leading edge creates a modern finish to the pool cover while adding rigidity. The square shape makes it easier to hide the leading edge and creates a better seal at the far end pool wall. It comes painted in Cover-Pools 240 gray to match the track channel and flush lid. To create a more integrated look, the leading edge can be wrapped in fabric identical to your pool cover. The wrapped leading edge comes separate from the cover fabric to eliminate slack and wrinkles seen in other wrapped leading edges.
Note: Only available for pools up to 25′ wide and applications using adjustable gliders.

Low Profile Rectangular Leading Edge
Our smallest leading edge at 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ for a sleek modern finish that holds fabric with a built-in channel (can also be used with a fabric pocket). Our low profile rectangular design resists deflection in both vertical and horizontal directions while providing 18% less deflection than competing leading edges of similar form.
Note: Only available for pools up to 16′ wide.
Leading Edge Bumper
The leading edge bumper is a cushioned addition to the leading edge that helps seal the pool more completely between the leading edge and the pool deck. It provides better insulation, keeps leaves and debris from entering the pool, and prevents chemicals from evaporating out of the pool. The round bumper is a rubber extrusion that attaches to the end of the pool. The square bumper wraps around the top of the leading edge.
